INTRODUCTION

Established in 1948, the Hong Kong Housing Society is an independent, not-for-profit
organisation that develops quality housing for the people of Hong Kong. With the
support of the Government, we have implemented various housing schemes to cater
for the needs of niche markets in Hong Kong. We also attach great importance to
the sustainable development of the city, and that drives us to undertake projects and
initiatives for the sake of protecting the environment and building a caring community.

We continue our efforts in minimising our environmental impact by incorporating
measures for efficiency and sustainability into our housing developments, as well as in
our property management services. Moreover, partnerships and social programmes,
such as the Ageing-in-Place Scheme and our newly opened MIND-Friendly Home
Exploration Centre, have been implemented to serve those in need, such as the
elderly.

Of special note this reporting year was the launch of our 70th anniversary celebrations. In
recognition of this milestone, we introduced a yearlong series of community events and
stakeholders engagement initiatives in 2018, including an “Art in Estates” Mural Painting
project, and a Microfilm Competition for students themed “Cross- generation Harmony”.

In this report, we review our environmental and social performance, including our
carbon reduction, waste management and energy saving initiatives, and the results
of our various professional development and community services, for the period April
2017 to March 2018.

引言

香港房屋協會（房協）成立於一九四八年，是獨立的非牟利機構，為香港市民建設優質
居所。我們亦得到政府的支持，發展不同的房屋計劃，配合香港市場的特別需要。我們
重視香港的可持續發展，因而推行不同項目及措施，以保護環境及建立關愛社區。

我們繼續在房屋發展項目及物業管理服務加入節能及提升可持續性的措施，盡力減少
我們對環境的影響。此外，我們透過多項夥伴合作及社會計劃，包括「樂得耆所」居家
安老計劃及新開設的「智友善」家居探知館，為長者及有需要人士服務。

值得留意的是我們在本報告年度展開了房協七十周年慶祝活動。為見證此里程碑，我
們於二零一八年內推出一連串社區及持份者參與活動，包括「快樂社區」屋邨藝術壁
畫計劃及為中學生而設的「跨代融乜易」微電影創作比賽。

在本報告中，我們會回顧二零一七年四月至二零一八年三月期間，房協在減碳、廢物
管理及節能措施等環境及社會方面的表現，以及我們在專業發展和各項社區服務的
成果。
