Housing Society Named New Subsidised Sale Flats Project “Hemma Amber”
A Scandinavian1 Lifestyle of Balanced and Cosy Living

The Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) announced that the Subsidised Sale Flats Project at Anderson Road Site R2-3 is officially named “Hemma Amber”, which symbolises a bright and carefree life filled with happiness and elegance.  The project is set to open for sale shortly, with the opening of show flats and price list scheduled for release in November, followed by application open for eligible persons2.

“Hemma Amber” adopts the Swedish1 concept of “Lagom”3, embodying the joy of a modest and balanced lifestyle, creating a serene living space and exquisite quality of life.  HKHS General Manager (Sales and Marketing) Peter Or said, “The name ‘Hemma Amber’ denotes a blissful family in Swedish1, while the gemstone Amber represents elegance, happiness and longevity, that resonates with the rich heritage of the Anderson Road Quarry in Hong Kong.  Its name in Chinese signifies clearness and brightness, inspired by the picturesque and mountainous surrounding4 that allows residents to feel relaxed in spirit.”

“The Subsidised Sale Flats Projects of HKHS adhere to the design principle of being ‘practical but not extravagant’, providing flats with efficient layouts, suitable construction materials, practical appliances, and comprehensive ancillary facilities5.  The design principle echoes with the Swedish1 concept of ‘Lagom’3, which promotes a balanced and ‘less is more’ lifestyle.  ‘Hemma Amber’ incorporates this concept to perfectly meet the housing needs of the public, shaping an ideal and pleasant living space for them,” Peter Or added.

HKHS conducted a survey with buyers in the last sale exercise of Subsidised Sale Flats Projects and it revealed that two-bedroom units were most popular in demand.  Therefore, “Hemma Amber” is set to provide small and medium-sized units in majority with a saleable area ranging from 303 square feet to 658 square feet6.  All flats are equipped with essential internal fitting-out and practical household appliances5.

HKHS is currently planning and constructing a total of six Subsidised Sale Flats Projects, including Sites R2-2, R2-3 and R2-4 at Anderson Road, Kai Tak Area 2B Site 1, as well as Jockey Club Road in Fanling and Yuen Lung Street in Yuen Long7, offering a total of about 6,000 residential flats.
