Hong Kong Housing Society Expresses Condolences on Passing of Former Secretary for Housing, Planning and Lands Michael Suen
The Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) expressed deep sorrows today (23 October) on the passing of Mr Michael Suen, former Secretary for Housing, Planning and Lands, and extended sincere condolences to his family.
HKHS Chairman Prof Ling Kar-kan said, “Mr Suen has made esteem contributions to Hong Kong’s long-term development of housing and planning. During his tenure as the Secretary for Housing, Planning and Lands, Mr Suen provided his full support to the work of Housing Society, including the implementation of the ‘Senior Citizen Residences Scheme’ that promotes ageing in place. Mr Suen had also signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the ‘Building Management and Maintenance Scheme’ with HKHS to facilitate property owners to improve the management and maintenance of their aged properties, so as to enhance building safety and the living environment of residents.”
