City Revitalisation
In fulfillment of the mission to improve the quality of living, the Housing Society has commenced revitalisation projects in various districts since 2006. The first project, named “Green Lane”, was launched in Sham Shui Po with greenery as the theme. Subsequently, the Housing Society completed a number of revitalisation works in Kwai Tsing, Tai Po, Tsuen Wan, Sai Kung, Islands, Eastern District and Yeun Long highlighting the unique local characteristics and injecting vitality to the old districts.
In order to improve the living and business environment and to rejuvenate the old districts, the Housing Society has worked with the Home Affairs Department since 2006 to explore suitable locations across the territory to introduce the city revitalisation projects in 18 districts. These community-driven projects aim not only to benefit the local communities, but also to enhance the overall cityscape and attract visitors from other districts.
