The Housing Society actively promotes green living in the community.

Environmental programmes are in place to
promote green messages to residents.

For our existing buildings, we continue to carry out major improvement ίତϞᅽρ˙ࠦdҢࡁܵᚃආБ΢ධ˴ࠅ
works, such as construction of green roofs, use of environmentally- ҷഛʈ೻d຅ʕܼ̍ܔணၠʷ˂̨eԴ͜
friendly and energy-saving materials, and introduction of environmental ᐑڭʿືঐيࣘdԨˏආᐑྤʿঐ๕၍ଣ
and energy management system. ӻ୕f

In our review period, we organised 882 recycling activities at our rental ΫᚥಂʫdҢࡁί̈ॡ܊㡼ʿ˾၍يุᑘ
estates and managed properties. Our Food-waste Recycling and ፬ə 882ࡈᐑڭΫϗݺਗfԷνߘᄼቱΫ
Community Farming Programme, for example, collected a total of ϗΎிʿٟਜঁЪࠇྌ™ʕd΍ϗණ16,099
16,099 kg of food waste and supplied 1,136 kg of compost to estate ʮ˘ᄼቱdމ܊㡼ߴࡹ౤Զ1,136ʮ˘٭ࣘf
nurseries. Meanwhile, over 17,000 old books were collected from 28 ΝࣛdҢࡁ͵੽ɚɤɞࡈ܊㡼ʿ˾၍يุ
estates and managed properties for recycling. ʕdΫϗ൴ཀ 17,000͉ᔚࣣf

The Housing Society supports a number of energy-efficiency ג՘ϋʫ׵ٟਜ˕౪ɓӻΐঐ๕ࣖूٙણ
community initiatives throughout the year. For example, all of our ݄fՉʕdҢࡁᒍɨהϞ܊㡼ʿ˾၍يุ
estates and managed properties joined the Energy Saving Charter 2017 ѩʊ̋ɝ˜ືঐߒ௝ 2017™dԨਞၾ˰ޢІ
and the annual Earth Hour activity organised by World Wide Fund for ್ਿږึ࠰ಥʱึӊϋᑘ፬ٙ˜ήଢɓʃࣛ™
Nature Hong Kong. ݺਗf

During the review year, the Housing Society received about 500 awards ג՘׵Ϋᚥϋʫᐏ՟ߒʞϵࡈᆤධdڌ౮
and recognitions for its achievements in energy efficiency, waste Չ׵ঐ๕ࣖूeಯᄻʿ˥ሯҷഛ˙ࠦהЪ
reduction and water quality improvement. ̈ٙрɢf
