Rent and Rental Policy 租金及租務政策
We undertook a bi-annual rent review exercise and determined an 8% גආБəӊՇϋɓϣٙॡږᏨীdӔ֛
rental increase to be applied as of 1 April 2018. As the rental estates’ Іɚཧɓɞϋ̬˜ɓ˚ৎሜʺॡږϵʱʘ
operating accounts are independent of other businesses of the Housing ɞf͟גᒍɨ̈ॡ܊㡼ٙᐄ༶ሪͦዹ
Society, the rent level is determined mainly on the basis of the ͭՉ˼ุਕdॡږᔾ֛˴ࠅ˸܊㡼ᐄ༶
operating costs, including the recurrent management expenses, ϓ͉ЪމԱᓥdܼ̍˚੬ٙ၍ଣක˕eॡ
tenancy administration costs, rates and government rents, as well as ਕ၍ଣක˕eࢨჵʿήॡeɽۨҷഛʈ
the expenses for major improvement works, repair and maintenance, ձၪࡌڭቮٙ˕̈d˸ʿॡ˒ٙࠋዄঐɢf
and the affordability of our tenants.
We have also launched a new Rent Assistance Scheme, with the aim to ג͵ϣપБॡږ౪пࠇྌdпϞ
help those of our tenants faced with short-term financial difficulties. ᅲѢᗭٙॡ˒fࠇྌਗ਼ɚཧɓɞ
Under the Scheme, which will take effect from 1 September 2018, ϋɘ˜ɓ˚ৎ͛ࣖd֢͏ਗ਼̙͡ሗಯеɓ
residents will be able to apply for a 50% rent reduction for a term of ̒ॡږdމಂՇϋfॡږ౪пࠇྌʔண
two years. There is no cap on the Scheme and assistance will be ɪࠢdԨਗ਼࣬ኽ༟ࣸᄲݟഗʚ౪пfୌΥ
distributed based on eligibility, to be determined by a means test. After ༟ࣸٙॡ౪˒̙Շϋܝ͡ሗᕘ̮Շϋٙ
two years, the beneficiaries, if eligible, can apply for a further two-year ॡ౪f
term of rent assistance.
