Integrating Gerontech Solutions for Elderly Care
以樂齡科技應用方案造福長者

Knee pain is one of the most pressing issues that hinders the mobility of elderly people. To combat such
issue, the Age-Friendly Home Living Lab has collaborated with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
(“PolyU”) to pilot the Jockey Club Elderly Knee Health 360 Project in 11 Housing Society’s rental estates.
The project implemented a newly developed AI-driven mobile app for fast-track knee health screening.
With simple body movements, the app provides objective information on the individual’s knee health
condition. Over 1,000 participants have attended the screening assessments, subsequently receiving
exercise recommendations tailored to their condition by physiotherapy professors from the Department
of Rehabilitation Sciences of PolyU.

Furthermore, smart-fitness mirrors with embedded screen have been adopted, allowing participants
to view exercise videos and monitor their posture. This exercise programme allows seniors to exercise
individually while adding fun and zest to their workouts, helping them improve their knee conditions in
the long run and enhance their quality of life.

Our outstanding performance in providing innovative elderly care solutions has been recognised by
the Ageing Asia in Singapore, and received the “Innovation of the
Year – Assistive Living (Digital Solution)” at the 11 Asia Pacific

Eldercare Innovation Awards 2023.
膝關節疼痛是妨礙長者行動的最迫切問題之一。有見及此，「樂活安
居生活實驗室」與香港理工大學合作，在房協轄下十一個屋邨試行「賽
馬會長者健膝360計劃」。計劃利用新研發的人工智能手機應用程式，
為長者進行快速膝關節健康篩查。應用程式透過分析簡單的肢體動
作，便能提供客觀的資訊，反映長者膝關節的健康狀況。計劃為超過
一千名參加者進行篩查，並由香港理工大學康復治療科學系教授按照
他們的狀況提供量身定制的運動建議。
此外，我們採用設有嵌入式屏幕的智能健身鏡，讓參加者在觀看運動
短片的同時，檢視他們的運動姿勢。此計劃不單讓長者可獨自進行運
動，更可增加做運動的趣味和興致，以長遠改善他們膝蓋的健康狀
況，提升他們的生活質素。

房協在提供創新安老照護方案的卓越表現獲新加坡Ageing Asia嘉
許，於其主辦的二零二三年度「第十一屆亞太區創新老年照護項目大
獎」榮獲「年度創新獎 — 最佳起居輔助（數碼方案）」。
