To offer relief to those with financial difficulties, we will implement the މпϞৌ݁Ѣᗭٙॡ˒dҢࡁਗ਼ɚཧ
Rent Assistance Scheme, similar to the one administered by the Hong ɓɞϋɘ˜ৎྼ݄ᗳЧ࠰ಥג܊։ࡰึપ
Kong Housing Authority, starting from September 2018. Under this Бٙॡږ౪пࠇྌfίϤࠇྌɨdΥ༟
Scheme, eligible residents can apply for a 50% rent reduction. At the ֢ࣸ͏̙͡ሗಯеɓ̒ॡږfגਗ਼Νࣛ
same time the Housing Society will initiate the Well-off Tenants Policy ྼ݄బ˒݁ഄdᆽڭϞࣖʱৣᘒ൮ٙ༟
to ensure the effective allocation of precious subsidised housing пג܊༟๕fࢬϗɝאଋ༟ପ൴ཀɓ֛
resources. Those households with a family income or net assets ˥̻ٙࢬਗ਼ცࠅ˕˹ᕘ̮ॡږאቋ̈ତ
exceeding a certain level will be required to pay extra rent or move out. ֢ఊЗf༈݁ഄසቇ͜ג̈ॡ܊㡼ٙ
The policy is only applicable to the new tenants of the Housing Society อॡ˒d˸ʿਗ਼ॡߒᔷ౬ʚڢৣਅٙࢬ
rental estates, and in cases where a tenancy is transferred to a family ϓࡰٙॡ˒f
member other than the spouse.
Over one third of the residents in our rental estates are aged over 60. Ңࡁٙ̈ॡ܊㡼Ϟ൴ཀɧʱɓ֢ٙ͏ѩ൴
We have expedited the implementation of Ageing-in-Place programme ཀʬɤ๋fҢࡁʊהϞᒍɨ̈ॡ܊㡼̋
in all our rental estates, with a target to make the rental estates an ҞપБᆀॾה֢τϼࠇྌdϙίᐄ
elderly-friendly living environment. The University of Hong Kong was ிڗ٫ʾഛٙ͛ݺᐑྤfגϘۃ։ৄ࠰
commissioned to find out the effectiveness of our programme, and an ಥɽኪ൙ПᆀॾהࠇྌٙϓࣖdԨ
encouraging positive result was reported. ̈˿ɛོႀ͍ٙࠦഐ؈f

Dedicated Rehousing Estates 專用安置屋邨
As a close working partner of the Government, the Housing Society is Ъމִ݁ٙၡʈЪྫМdגʊ௪ఱ
well placed to build subsidised rehousing options for eligible ၫdމաִ݁೯࢝װБਗԷνίอ೯࢝
households affected by government development clearance exercises ਜٙධͦהᅂᚤٙΥ༟֢ࣸ͏dጳܔ༟п
(such as those for NDA projects). τໄ፯ධf
In May 2018, the Government proposed to offer a non-means tested ɚཧɓɞϋʞ˜dִ݁ܔᙄΣաִ݁೯࢝
rehousing option for eligible households affected by government װБਗהᅂᚤٙΥ༟ࣸࢬԶе
development clearance exercises. This rehousing option would be in ًرᄲݟٙτໄ፯dג೯࢝ʿ၍ଣ
the form of rental and SSF units in Dedicated Rehousing Estates to be ٙਖ਼͜τໄ܊㡼ʫԶ̈ॡʿ༟п̈ਯఊ
developed and managed by the Housing Society. Additionally, whilst ЗfϤ̮dϞᗫٙਖ਼͜τໄ܊㡼̙Զɝ
the Dedicated Rehousing Estates are being prepared for intake, vacant ۃdגึਗ਼ᒍɨ̈ॡ܊㡼ٙ٤ໄఊЗ
units of the Housing Society’s rental estates will be used for one-off ᅡЪɓϣཀನτໄఊЗdԶΥ༟ࣸ
transitional rehousing arrangements for eligible households. We ࢬɝИfҢࡁПࠇdЗ४Ꮚϵձ༩ʿݳ
estimate that the first batch of Dedicated Rehousing Estates at Pak Wo ˥ݳ̻༩ٙୋɓҭਖ਼͜τໄ܊㡼ਗ਼̙
Road in Fanling and at Hung Ping Road in Hung Shui Kiu will be ready ɚཧɚɧŊɚཧɚ̬ϋɝf
for first intake in 2023/2024.
