Supervisory Board 監事會
The Supervisory Board establishes the Housing Society’s mission, vision, ္ԫึࠋபࠈͭג՘֚ٙϙeᗴ౻eࣨː
core values and guiding principles, and oversees all nomination, ᄆ࠽ձΆุࡡۆdԨܵᚃ္ຖהϞ౤Τe
election and audit functions. The Supervisory Board appoints members ፯ᑘʿᄲࣨᔖঐf္ԫึ͵ࠋப։΂ੂБ
to the Executive Committee, the Audit Committee and the Nominating ։ࡰึeᄲࣨ։ࡰึʿ౤Τ։ࡰึٙϓࡰd
Committee and is responsible for their performance. It also advises and Ԩ္၍΢։ࡰึٙڌତf္ԫึ͵ఱܵ΅
provides guidance to the Executive Committee on issues of stakeholder ٫ᛆूeʮ΍ᗫڷʿ̮ίᐑྤᔷᜊഃ˙ࠦ
interests, public relations and changes in the external environment. ΣੂБ։ࡰึ౤ԶจԈʿܸˏf

As at 1 April 2017, the Supervisory Board had 24 members, including 19 ࿚Їɚཧɓɖϋ̬˜ɓ˚d ္ԫึ΍Ϟ
elected members, four government officials as ex officio members, ɚɤ̬Τϓࡰdܼ̍ɤɘΤ຾፯ᑘପ͛ٙ
namely, the Permanent Secretary for Transport and Housing (Housing), ϓࡰe̬Τִ݁֜͟ࡰ̈΂ٙ຅್։ࡰ€у
Director of Lands, Director of Planning and Director of Buildings, as well ༶፩ʿג܊҅੬΂।ࣣڗ€ג܊eή݁ᐼ
as the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director. To recruit new ໇໇ڗe஝ྌ໇໇ڗʿ܊ρ໇໇ڗʿג՘
members and ensure a smooth succession process, a “two-year grace Б݁ᐼ൒ࡒੂБᐼ฀ԫfމᄣ૴อϓࡰԨ
period” requirement has been adopted since 2015 AGM. Accordingly, a ᆽڭᘱ΂නлd္ԫึІɚཧɓʞϋմϋ
member who retires from the Supervisory Board after six or more ։ࡰɽึৎમॶ˜Շϋ;ᔖಂ™஝Էdࠈ׼
consecutive years of service will not be eligible for re-election for two ஹᚃʬϋא˸ɪ̈΂္ԫึٙϓࡰІৗ΂
years until the second AGM following his/her retirement. ္ԫึܝՇϋʫ€уٜЇৗ΂ܝୋɚϣմϋ
։ࡰɽึʔঐࠠ፯f

At the AGM held on 5 September 2017, six Supervisory Board members ׵ɚཧɓɖϋɘ˜ʞ˚ᑘБٙմϋ։ࡰɽึ
retired, namely, Mr Chan Ka-kui, Mr Bosco Fung Chee-keung, ɪd΍ϞʬΤ္ԫึϓࡰৗ΂dʱй݊௓࢕
Ms Katherine Hung Siu-lin, Dr Tony Leung Ka-tung, Prof Kenneth Pang ቸ΋͛e ඹқ੶΋͛e ݳʃᇳɾɻe
Tsan-wing and Mr Robert Young Man-kim, fulfilling the one-third ૑࢕ಊ௹ɻeుᗎ࿲઺બʿเ͏ᄉ΋͛dୌ
retirement rule. Dr Tony Leung Ka-tung was not eligible to stand for Υəɧʱʘɓϓࡰৗ΂ٙ஝֛f ͟׵
re-election to the Supervisory Board as he had already served for two ૑࢕ಊ௹ɻʊஹᚃ̈΂Շ֣€΢މಂɧϋ္
consecutive three-year terms. Mr Chan Ka-kui, Mr Bosco Fung Chee- ԫึϓࡰd݂ʔΥ༟ࣸࠠ፯f௓࢕ቸ΋͛e
keung, Ms Katherine Hung Siu-lin, Prof Kenneth Pang Tsan-wing and ඹқ੶΋͛eݳʃᇳɾɻeుᗎ࿲઺બʿ
Mr Robert Young Man-kim stood for re-election and were successfully เ͏ᄉ΋͛ᐏࠠ፯ஹ΂္ԫึϓࡰf̤̮Շ
re-elected to the Supervisory Board. The two other members elected to Τ຅፯̋ɝ္ԫึٙϓࡰމᄎ˖ёɾɻ
the Supervisory Board were Ms Julia Lau Man-kwan and Dr Danny Wan ʿʙᅃሾ௹ɻf࿚Їɚཧɓɞϋɧ˜ɧɤɓ
Tak-fai. The Supervisory Board consisted of 25 members as at 31 March ˚d္ԫึ΍ϞɚɤʞΤϓࡰf
2018.
